Hello, and welcome to the Scooby-Zone, the podcast where I'm glad he's frozen in there and that we're out here as we watch a bit of Scooby-Doo Media. I'm Rob.

SPEAKER_01And today we'll be watching Jeepers, It's the Creeper. Episode 21 of Scooby-Doo Where Are You?
SPEAKER_02Oh, this is this is gonna be a good one, guys. I know. This is one of my favorites.
SPEAKER_01We're down to the final five.
SPEAKER_02Final five. Ooh, we're getting some good ones here. And maybe, maybe not such a good one. One of them probably is gonna be my least favorite, so. I wonder which one that is.
SPEAKER_01How about we the one that oh, okay. Out of the five we have left, like counting this one, uh huh, there's two that I actually alternate on how often I forget about them.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Uh huh.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01And I'm not gonna say which one of those are.
SPEAKER_02And you're not. Okay. Well, hopefully one of them isn't a special one that we have coming up, you know, within a couple weeks that's special.
SPEAKER_01If it's if you're thinking of the werewolf, though, I always remember the second werewolf one.
SPEAKER_02All right. Or at least we got that established.
SPEAKER_01Yes. For those who aren't familiar with the episodes coming up, I will give the vague hints that one of them is, I believe, the only season two episode without a musical chase scene.
SPEAKER_02Ah, I think I know which one you're doing.
SPEAKER_01And the other one is the one with the bedsheet ghost. Yes. The ghost that is literally just a bed sheet.
SPEAKER_03The ghost is literally just a bed sheet. Huh. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Oh, you I mean intentionally vague for the listeners who don't know what's coming.
SPEAKER_02But yet I don't get how people haven't seen these episodes. Huh.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. We could have young kids listening.
SPEAKER_02I'm just gonna think which one you're talking about. Are you talking about the one that has the bed sheet over like air like a hot air balloon? Are you seriously saying that one you forgot? That's a good one. That's it.
SPEAKER_01No, it is a good one. But I don't know, because yeah, that's also one I had on a VHS tape growing up. So it's like I don't know how it's like, why is that one the second one that I often forget? Like when I actively remember the other one, then that's the episode that I tend to forget about when trying to when I'm not looking you know it up.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01And I don't know why that is because it's like I don't know either. Like this should have been one of the seven that was like constantly burned into my brain because I it was on one of the two VHS tapes of a total of eight episodes, one of which was on both, so it's like seven episodes that I saw all the time.
SPEAKER_02Exactly. Why?
SPEAKER_01Yet I always remember Spooky Space Kook because Shaggy and Scooby throw a key out the window and jump out the window to grab the key to unlock the door to run out the door.
SPEAKER_02It's like why why would you even I mean I know it's Scooby logic and all that, but why would you even think that, oh, we threw the key, oh we gotta go back in and get it. You can't just oh we ran out the window, we're good, let's go. No, we gotta run all the way back and open the door, get all the stuff out of the way of the door.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Open the door and then leave, and then get all and distract the space coup as we get out. Like, in real life, I don't really see that working. The space coup's gonna catch you by then.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Unless he's like really, really, really, really slow.
SPEAKER_01I was kind of curious how cumbersome his costume is.
SPEAKER_02Right. How right the movement again does it make him bad at grabbing? Shout out to my uncle who notices that all the time. I guess we'll find out this week. Right?
SPEAKER_01You know when they take on the creeper.
SPEAKER_02Oh, definitely the creeper. Well, let's see where he ends up. He might not end up Yeah. We'll see. But it should be a very enjoyable episode.

SPEAKER_02And what a creepy episode it was.
SPEAKER_01Did definitely ever say Jeepers? I don't think so.
SPEAKER_02Because she asked what that was, and she didn't know what that was.
SPEAKER_01Oh well. Oh wow. Well, whatever. Alright, let's go ahead. We'll take this episode straight from the top now. Yeah, straight from the top. You know, we open up with, you know, security guard, rent a cop driving his car. All of a sudden, you know, there's a big log in the middle of the road. Who do you want to put that horizontally? He gets out of the car to push it out of the way when out of a bush comes a zombie-looking type guy. A zombie-looking type guy. He does kind of look like a zombie.
SPEAKER_02He does, but yeah, he does kind of look like a zombie.
SPEAKER_01You know. I mean, other it's either a zombie or he literally just looks like a creepy-looking person.
SPEAKER_02He's probably more of a creepy-looking guy than a zombie, but you know.
SPEAKER_01But like, honestly, like, I could see where like he actually does look like a normal person. Right, he does. We then cut to the mystery machine. You know, the gang they're on their way to a school barn dance.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01You know, Daphne can't wait to get on the dance floor. Nope. Shakey can't wait to get his hands on the buffet table. That buffet table. Like, just think like real chocolate-covered corn on the cob.
SPEAKER_02Ugh, this dog must be made of scrap iron.
SPEAKER_01You know, Scooby's getting ready to put on the dog.
SPEAKER_02Yep, he's getting ready to put on the dog.
SPEAKER_01When all of a sudden they notice the security guard rent a cop leaning against the downed log. So they get out to help. He's all beat up.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_01And it's at this point where we get an exterior shot of the mystery machine for like a quick second or two. Right. And it's in a darker blue than its normal teal.
SPEAKER_02Right. I don't know how how that would have been put there, or you know, how they made that mistake when it's always been that teal color versus we're just noticing a lot about the mystery machine and all these recent episodes, aren't we? It's all different colors.
SPEAKER_01We're kind of noticing all of these different animation things that we just never picked up on.
SPEAKER_02No, we never did. I mean, we probably back then we probably weren't watching it as closely. Well, we have to watch it a lot closer now for the podcast, but you know, I mean, we went from from noticing from noticing like like Shaggy sitting on a rock to turn his hair blonde to noticing the different colors of the mystery machine. What a fed freaking.
SPEAKER_01No, it is it is very interesting. Like now noticing like these smaller detail, like it's not like small, small, like No, but it's still pretty noticeable if you know what you're looking for.
SPEAKER_02Like when Shaggy's hair turns blonde, like that's kind of really or when it turned that orange is red too in the backstage rage. That was really weird. Like I've never seen that before.
SPEAKER_01That was like super noticeable because like Shaggy was talking at the time.
SPEAKER_02Right. It was the screen was focused on him versus focus on the floor.
SPEAKER_01Or like when Scooby's arm turns green in the mystery mask mix up.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_01There's like, you know, it was a pure focus on that character, like so it makes it really weird. Just the mystery machine pulling up, like yeah, not noticing like that.
SPEAKER_02Not noticing that. I mean color shade.
SPEAKER_01That's weird.
SPEAKER_02Yep, isn't it weird?
SPEAKER_01Yep. You know, they get out to talk to the guard, find out what happens. Yep. You know, that must have been in some crazy wreck. You know, there's not a scratch on the outside of the car, but the inside's all torn up.
SPEAKER_02You mean it's been ransacked.
SPEAKER_01Um the guard hands Fred a piece of paper and says, The flame will tell. The creeper. The creeper. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01The creeper.
SPEAKER_02The creeper. Who is this creeper anyway?
SPEAKER_01That's a good idea. That's a good question.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_01And instead of taking the guard to, I don't know, a hospital.
SPEAKER_02To the hospital? Or to the cops or back to the cop station?
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_02Or even a copy, take him back to the sheriff's station.
SPEAKER_01Or some sort of, you know, medical clinic. Right. Or anything? Yep. They take him to the bank president's house.
SPEAKER_02Why would you even why would you he's it's nighttime. He's probably gonna be sleeping. Why are you taking him there? Why don't you take him to the hospital that's probably open right now? That's an emergency thing. Why wouldn't you take him there? Why wouldn't you think about doing that?
SPEAKER_01You know, that is a good question.
SPEAKER_02Isn't it a good question? I thought.
SPEAKER_01If only there was somebody as a part of Mystery Inc. who was so smart to think of that. But apparently there wasn't. But I'm starting to think that between all five of them, uh-huh, they share one collective brain cell.
SPEAKER_02What collect and they're all different sides of the brain.
SPEAKER_01So I don't know who was who had custody of the brain cell at that moment. I don't know who did. You know, here I thought like they would have had at least two brain cells. Uh one that bounced between Fred, Daphne, Shaggy, and Scooby, and then one that just stayed with Velma. Right. Well that's no, it must just be bouncing between all five of them.
SPEAKER_02It must be. Man.
SPEAKER_01That could be why Velma always tells the ghost to stop that.
SPEAKER_02Stop that or go away.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01No, so we go to the bank president's house of Mr. Carswell. Yep. And he's like, it's a good thing you brought the guard here.
SPEAKER_02It's a bad thing you brought the guard here.
SPEAKER_01He says it's a good thing.
SPEAKER_02But it's about it's technically the bad thing. We just don't realize it yet.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, I mean does I didn't know the bank president was also a doctor.
SPEAKER_02I did I also didn't know he was something else, too, but we'll figure that out later on.
SPEAKER_01You know, they talk about like how, yeah, we got this piece of paper from him. He says the flame will tell the creeper. We don't know what the creeper is.
SPEAKER_02We have no idea.
SPEAKER_01Well, the bank president tells him that, you know, the creeper is an entity that's been robbing the bank recently. But the thing with the robberies is that the doors and windows, everything's locked up tighter than a drum. Tighter than a drum. So it's you know, mysterious like how it's been happening. But it's a ghost. It can just go through walls. The creeper's a phantom.
SPEAKER_02Well, so what? Right, a phantom who can walk through walls. So he doesn't, doesn't matter if the doors are locked up parallel than a drum. He can still get in. He has to get walk through walls. No, he doesn't. He looks more solid, doesn't he?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like like I said, he looks like a zombie. He looks like a purse. You said he looks like a purse. It's not well, zombies are people.
SPEAKER_02Well, I don't know about that one.
SPEAKER_01They're dead people, but they're still people.
SPEAKER_02They're more dead than alive. They don't know how to be human anymore. Unless you want to talk about that way, too.
SPEAKER_01I mean, either way, like, you know, does not look like you would expect a fan like no. Listen, what were the last phantoms that we had in Scooby-Doo? The two The Phantom Shadows. Two phantoms. And they look like ghosts. They look like green ghosts, yes.
SPEAKER_02Green ghosts who can turn your hand green when you when you dance with them. When you dance with them. Doing an empire, doing a a new hope style.
SPEAKER_01You know, but no time to figure that out now. Nope, no time. We have to get to the barn dance. We do. Come on, let's go. So we get to the barn dance. Yep. You know, it's one groovy dance floor. It is one groovy dance floor. If only Shaggy would dance on that instead of Velma's feet.
SPEAKER_02And then go dance with Scooby's floor.
SPEAKER_01And then, you know, Scooby cuts in. Yep. You know, so you know, Velma gets stood up for a dog.
SPEAKER_02Well, she's been a wallflower before, but this is ridiculous.
SPEAKER_01Shaggy and Scoob dance over to the buffet table. You know, Shaggy gets his chocolate covered corn on the cob. Yep. Which he just takes puts down his throat and pulls it back up completely crazy.
SPEAKER_02How is that even possible? That doesn't even make any sense. Yeah, it's um Little weird.
SPEAKER_01It is.
SPEAKER_02Okay, well, you know, I I don't know if that's how I would want to eat a corn on the cob. No. You gotta have it with butter. I don't think chicken I don't think chocolate syrup would work. You gotta have it with butter. I think butter, yeah. Butter will make it taste better. I mean you need butter. I can't believe it's not butter. That's um I got you on that one. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you know, it's not our fault. Shaggy's first toy was like, all right, but you just spooled it.
SPEAKER_02No, I suppose it's not. So that makes him eat things differently than us, I suppose. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Uh what was it in the clue for Scooby-Doo? Was it like chocolate-covered hot dogs or something?
SPEAKER_02I think so. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Maybe he just likes chocolate.
SPEAKER_02Maybe he just like chocolate syrup.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's where his stomach is made of scrap iron.
SPEAKER_01But, you know, he cuts outside and the creeper cuts the power to the barn. Everyone creaks out. Well, yeah. You know. A creepy barn is no fun in the dark.
SPEAKER_02No, no, why would it be fun in the dark? What's Right. Why would it be fun in the dark?
SPEAKER_01So they decide they're gonna go continue the party over at the malt shop.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_01Everyone else leaves. She and Scoob are cleaning up the buffet table as expertly as they can.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, they're experts in eating, so yeah, they'd be experts at cleaning the table.
SPEAKER_01They decide they're going to dump the paper plates inside the box of paper plates by that creepy-looking scarecrow.
SPEAKER_02Didn't they call it ugly old scarecrow? Maybe.
SPEAKER_01I think it was ugly old scarecrow. I think creepy fits it more better.
SPEAKER_02I think it does, yeah. You got a point.
SPEAKER_01Turns out it's not a scarecrow, you guys. It's the creeper.
SPEAKER_02The creeper? Oh no. Now we know what he looks like. That could be a problem.
SPEAKER_01Shag and Scooby toss a box up in the air. Don't know what they were expecting to come out, like, because the box ends up on top of them.
SPEAKER_02Yes, I was saying.
SPEAKER_01But they managed to run into a hay bit a pile of hay.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01You know, knocking over Velma in the process, and Velma loses her glasses.
SPEAKER_02She got knocked down pretty roughly.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so we can go ahead and take a drink for Velma losing her glasses. Yep, we can take a drink.
SPEAKER_02And there he actually goes taking a drink. Uh-huh. Yep.
SPEAKER_01All the talking.
SPEAKER_02You gotta keep your throat hydrated. That is true. But this time, this is the first time Velma's actually been able to find her glasses and put them back on.
SPEAKER_01Yes. So far. Unfortunately, she does not find them before Daphne and Fred see the creeper. Oh, right. And Fred says to run because they jump into the pile of hay with Shag and Scooby. Right. So Velma asks, run from what? Yep. Gets her glasses on, finds the creeper at the same height as her on her knees.
SPEAKER_02That's not weird. They're creepy. No.
SPEAKER_01And so she shuffles off on her knees into the hay pile.
SPEAKER_02She's gotta have that's gotta hurt.
SPEAKER_01In which we get the musical chasing of the episode.
SPEAKER_02Oh, the musical chasing.
SPEAKER_01Set to the song Daydreamer. Or as I like to call it, the ostrich song.
SPEAKER_02The ostrich song, yep. Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01You know. They're run they are just running all around while in the pile of hay. Yep. You know, in and out of a house. Yep. Into the side of a silo. Yep. Shaggy and Schoolby stick their heads out of the hay pile.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01Fred and the girls show up at the top of the silo.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_01Where the creeper shows up behind them.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01You know, Fred tosses Shaggy the piece of paper.
SPEAKER_02As an airplane.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Shaggy gets it, and then the creeper comes down. All while the creeper is saying combination of the words creeper and paper. Yeah, it's a weird combination. It's like I feel like he's saying paper because otherwise, like they wouldn't know that he's trying to get that blank piece of paper. Right. But it does come out very much like he's saying creeper.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like he's a Pokemon.
SPEAKER_02Right? Like he's a Pokemon, guys.
SPEAKER_01Um so yeah, I think it's all just a matter of context.
SPEAKER_02Might be. Yeah. Sounds about right.
SPEAKER_01You know, but they're still running away. They end up eventually they end up on horse-drawn cart. Yep. You know, they're being ch they're they're running off with it. They're being followed by the creeper on a horse. Yep. Eventually, because of all of the fast-moving speeds and jostling on rocks and whatnot.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_01The horse that Shaggy and Scooby are kind of guiding gets detached from the wagon part. Yep. So Shaggy and Scoob end up separated from Fred and the girls.
SPEAKER_03Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01Shag and Scoob, you know, decide to hide with the chickens, since they're chicken.
SPEAKER_02Right, where else will they hide?
SPEAKER_01Where we find out the creeper is just really dumb. He is not very bright, is he? Scanning the chicken coop.
SPEAKER_02Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01You see Scooby sitting on a nest with just like a rubber glove on his head. You know, acting like a chicken. He's acting like a chicken, so it doesn't think like, hey, why maybe he can't see very well.
SPEAKER_02Maybe he He he was Maybe he can't see very well.
SPEAKER_01Maybe.
SPEAKER_02Maybe he's blind and he's he's Or maybe he just saw Scooby.
SPEAKER_01He's like, well, the dog's not gonna have the piece of paper.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he didn't see the dog. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So he leaves. Find out that Shaggy was hiding under the nest that Scooby was sitting on. In which, you know, the egg Scooby was on then starts to hatch. So we have a little baby chick. Yay. You know, thinks Scooby hits mom. Yeah. You know, Shaggy tells Scooby to set him straight. Of course. And what do you know? Now the chick thinks he's a dog.
SPEAKER_02Oh, great. Now the chick thinks he's a dog. Yep. Uh huh. Yep. Real good job there, guys. Real good job making the chicken believe it's a dog. Well, the dog believes he's a chicken, so it makes sense that a chicken will believe it's a dog, right? You have your first mini scrappy dude.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01We'll get to that.
SPEAKER_02We'll get to that. Okay.
SPEAKER_01After we briefly cut back to Fred and the girls, you know, on their way trying to find Shaggy and Scooby, where they find a fancy car hidden in the woods. You know, nothing unusual about the car other than there's torn-up film negative in the bottom of it.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01You know. Don't know what that's about because then we cut back to Shaggy, Scooby, and the chicken.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_01Baby chicken.
SPEAKER_02Baby chicken.
SPEAKER_01They hear the creeper, they hide behind some bushes. Yep. You know, Shaggy's telling the chick to be quiet. And what does the chick do?
SPEAKER_02He walks around and goes and barks at the creeper.
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_02Maybe he's saying puppy power. He's barking at creepers. Starts to swings it in his arm. Swings it in his arm.
SPEAKER_01Kicks the creeper. They run off.
SPEAKER_02What if they want all of them kicking him in the shin or the knee? Like he's getting kicked a lot. They really keep kicking him. Yeah. That's villain abuse, isn't it? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, eventually we cut we briefly cut to Fred and the girls. They hear some sounds coming, they hide behind some trees.
SPEAKER_03Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01And when Fred gives a signal, they'll jump out and, you know, tackle the creeper. Okay. Well. It's not the creeper, is it? I mean, we know whose back they're on, but whose side are they on? I know. That's so-Cause it turns out that it wasn't the creeper.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_01It was Shaggy and Scooby.
SPEAKER_02It was just correction. We've tacked we've got Shaggy and Scooby.
SPEAKER_01Who do they who did they think they were s they were running from? The baby chick?
SPEAKER_02Maybe they were, because it kept saying puppy power.
SPEAKER_01They then notice um footprints. You know, that they decide to follow.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_01Leads to a rolled up plank bridge. You know, that leads to a cave.
SPEAKER_02But they can't get in. It's all what a shame. It's all rolled up. Shaggy's expertise, it's all been rolled up for the night.
SPEAKER_01Well, they're gonna have Scooby climb across the ropes to unroll it.
SPEAKER_02How are they gonna do that?
SPEAKER_01They give him a Scooby snack.
SPEAKER_02But he doesn't get the Scooby Snack.
SPEAKER_01No, it gets eaten by the baby chick.
SPEAKER_02Who thinks he's a dog.
SPEAKER_01But a deal's a deal. So I guess so. Because the Scooby Snack was eaten. Scooby has to do it. No matter. Doesn't matter that Scooby didn't get the snack he was proud of.
SPEAKER_02It doesn't matter, I guess.
SPEAKER_01Thanks, Velma.
SPEAKER_02I would sit there. Oh, it's Fred who gave him the snack.
SPEAKER_01Fred gave him the snack, but Velma pointed out a deal's a deal. That is true.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I would have fought against that. Like, no, I'm not going until I get my Scooby snack. Because that's my part of the deal. I don't know what chickens got, it doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. He does not belong to the creeper. It doesn't? Well, we as of right now, from what we're told, it doesn't. It belongs to the hermit of the hills.
SPEAKER_02Ah, that's right.
SPEAKER_01And is, you know, squirrel stew with pickled bat wings and crab crab roost, whatever it is. Something. Either way, it is not tasty. Shaggy does not like it.
SPEAKER_02That's kind of hard to believe because Billy practically. But then he's on a strict squirrel-free diet. Yeah. So he can't eat that.
SPEAKER_01So they run out and leave. The hermit's yelling at them to come back.
SPEAKER_02Why? Why would it you don't get any other screen time? Why would it matter if he's a little bit more than a few years?
SPEAKER_01Honestly, like they was basically he's set up to like. Right, yeah, exactly. From what we know of what the creeper does, it's like, I can't believe that.
SPEAKER_02Like Right. Yeah. Definitely not.

SPEAKER_02He's gonna pull it open. How do they not know that the it's the creeper? Yeah. How do they not see that? How does Fred not notice that? With how protective he gets over the mystery machine, how does he not notice that something's sitting in his seat, in his spot, since he's usually the driver? How does he not notice that? The windows aren't ticked in or anything, you know? I mean, unless it's that big shock, but you'd think you'd react and see that first before you know, before that even happens, you know, but I don't know. I don't get it. Yeah. I don't understand. I don't compute.
SPEAKER_01Anyways. You know, there's some running around shenanigans that ensue. Yep. Velma stopped by the creeper, says, You wouldn't hit somebody with glasses, would you? Takes Velma's glasses, and Velma kicks him.
SPEAKER_02I think I I think she said it wrong. She should have said, You wouldn't hit a woman with glasses, would you? Because how that was back then you couldn't hit a woman with even if well, it didn't matter if the person had glasses or not, it's a woman, you can't hit them. That makes the guy look very weak. So then she should have phrased it differently.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because I don't recall seeing the creeper like because we didn't see him chase after Shaggy Shay's got a barrel over him. Right. And then he comes back on top of the barrel. Right. Doesn't Scooby go in on a pitchfork too? Yep.
SPEAKER_02He comes hopping in the room.
SPEAKER_01If we see Fred running, Fred trips and accidentally like flings the creeper forward. Whoops. Fred does apologize.
SPEAKER_02Oh, sorry about that.
SPEAKER_01But the creeper doesn't care. He doesn't care.
SPEAKER_02He calls it.
SPEAKER_01I don't think we s see Daphne.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_01Or if we did, like it was something like that.
SPEAKER_02She's just like running with them or whatever, like running in a whole in the barn scene again.
SPEAKER_01No, but then we get a quick Scooby-dooby Doors scene where they're running through different barn stalls. Yep. Is uh it's a pretty straightforward one. We see them running from right side of the screen to the left.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_01And then they're up a section going from the left to the right up to the higher Right, up to the loft, probably, or whatever you want to. Where they end up falling into like a big pile of hay. You know, Shaggy's sold to do something. So he ends up starting the bailer.
SPEAKER_02Yep. The the chicken tells Scooby Yep to turn on the hay baler.
SPEAKER_01And Scooby just listens.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, sure, what's the worst thing that could happen?
SPEAKER_01And they all come out in hay bales. Yep. Luckily their heads are out, so.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, they probably had to make it that way.
SPEAKER_01You know, so they're able to, you know, Scooby's able to unmask the creeper.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_01And who does it turn out to be? Who? Mr. Carswell, the big president. It's not the hermit of the hills? Nope. Like he literally just existed to be a red herring.
SPEAKER_02Just to be a red herring.
SPEAKER_01But not the red herring.
SPEAKER_02Not the red herring, though. Maybe it's like his grandfather or something. Yeah, we never find out what happens to red herring. Fred is so adamant on him being the creeper. Like he's so adamant on red herring being the villain for that episode. So maybe that's do you just see that?
SPEAKER_01Is this where it circularly starts?
SPEAKER_02This is where it starts.
SPEAKER_01Even though the pup name Scooby-Doo is technically a prequel series.
SPEAKER_02Well, technically, but yet, you know, maybe, maybe it's Red Herring when he's older.
SPEAKER_01Maybe he may becomes a hermit of the hill. When he's well, because it's what he's he'd be the same age as them. He becomes a hermit as a teenager.
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean, it doesn't take that long for your hair to get a different color. So, you know, maybe maybe he Oh, that's stress from Fred blaming him. Stress from Fred blaming him off. Oh gosh.
SPEAKER_01Basically, you know, what was going on was because the bank president was the last to leave at the end of the day. He'd stuff his briefcase full of money, lock everything up, and then later he'd return dressed as the creeper to make it look like the creeper was robbing the bank.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01But the security guard is too smart for that.
SPEAKER_02Oh, we have a brain in well now. The friend cop has a bra has a brain.
SPEAKER_01He secretly installed an infrared camera that took a picture that when held up to a heat source would reveal and develop the photo.
SPEAKER_02It would reveal the creeper?
SPEAKER_01Yep. So Velma lights a match, they you know, hold the paper over it and move it back and forth, and yep, we get a picture of the bank president stealing the money.
SPEAKER_02Well, I'll be.
SPEAKER_01Yep. You know, he says that he would have gone away if it weren't for those blasted meddling kids.
SPEAKER_02He said the line, but he added something extra in it.
SPEAKER_01Yep. And, you know, we wrap things up. We're gonna creep on down to the malt shop.
SPEAKER_02Yes, creep on down to the malt shop.
SPEAKER_01But first, Shaggy Scooby has to take back the baby chick. Yep. Which he does. Yep, he does. Baby chick decides to stay with its chicken mom. Not his chicken dad.
SPEAKER_02Not his chicken dog dad.
SPEAKER_01And as Scooby's walking out, what happens?
SPEAKER_02More chick more baby chicks start hatching.
SPEAKER_01Yep. They all see Scooby.
SPEAKER_02He's becomes a mother hen all over again.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_02And that's where we end. That's where we end the episode, guys. Hmm. Pretty good episode. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, pretty straightforward. Also, pretty short. It will. Yeah. You know. And again, like I think a lot of that is like we are in one central location for the entire thing. We're not moving around so much. They aren't split up as much for investigative purposes.

SPEAKER_02Right. So why was it what but then we discussed the the creeper isn't very bright, so maybe he doesn't know who has it. Right. So he's going after all of them, but he picked Shaggy and Scooby the most. Yeah. So. You know, whatever.
SPEAKER_01Yep. So, you know, we can add another Scooby snack to the Scooby Snack intake for the episode.
SPEAKER_02Let's add another Scooby snack.
SPEAKER_01So we are at 180. Total of 189 Scooby snacks. Uh-huh. One shaggy snack and one hero sandwich. Yay. Which I think then gives us a grand total of Uh-huh. We are averaging nine Scooby snacks per episode right now.

SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I thought when we did the math last week, week before, I thought we averaged, like, even if we got no new more Scooby snacks from that week's episode, like I th thought it was still averaging like close to seven over the proposed six.

SPEAKER_01You know, design-wise, he does seem a little simple. Right. But he also has a weight of iconicness to him. Right.

SPEAKER_01You know, he's one of a handful. Probably more than a handful if I'm being honest, but I'd have to look at a lot of later Scooby series and other things that I don't have off the top of my head. Right. I know he shows up in the Scooby-Doo and Guess Who episode that features the Flash. Yep. Which is one of the only episodes of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who that I've actually watched. Oh wow. I know of other episodes in that series. Like I know there is a Batman episode with Kevin Conroy's Batman. I know there's a Wonder Woman episode.
SPEAKER_02There's also the Hex Girls are in an episode, too.
SPEAKER_01Yes, the Hex Girls. I think Bill Knight, the science guy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think Sonic Son was gonna be.
SPEAKER_01I think Sandy Duncan has another episode in that series as. But yeah, I know because I've seen the Flash one being a fan of The Flash. The Flush. The Flush.

SPEAKER_01Yeah, I've seen that one. And I know you know the creeper is actually the only monster from Scooby-Doo Where Are You to show up in Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase. That is true. All the other quote-unquote classic monsters that show up in the in that movie towards the end.

SPEAKER_01You know, out of the five, four of them are from the Scooby-Doo show.

SPEAKER_01Now I would have to do a little more looking. Mm-hmm. Because I know like there's a good chunk of Scooby-Doo show episodes that are often labeled as season three of Where Are. I would have to take a look to see how many of those episodes. But I I know Gator Ghoul was the Scooby-Doo show.
SPEAKER_02Right. The Tar Monster. The Tar Monster was in there. The Jaguar was in there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was Iron Face is that last. Or is he He is.

SPEAKER_01So depending on how you want to take a look at that, right? That either means the creeper is the only Where Are You monster, or Gator Ghoul is the only Scooby-Doo show monster.

SPEAKER_01Both of which I think are interesting monsters.
SPEAKER_02Right. They both are. Yep.
SPEAKER_01So I think design-wise, you know, he's iconic.
SPEAKER_02Right, he's definitely iconic.
SPEAKER_01He was definitely one of the ones that I was surprised wasn't used for Scooby-Doo 2.

SPEAKER_01For sure, we'll have to really pay attention to when we watch through that movie for the podcast to see how many monsters we can pick out in the museum.
SPEAKER_02How many that make an appearance? Yeah, type of thing.
SPEAKER_01Obviously, like we know that there are monster costumes in the museum that don't get turned into monsters.
SPEAKER_02Right, they don't get hit or they don't get put in in time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. They get created or chicken stein is a monster costume we see from a pup named Scooby-Doo.

SPEAKER_01But yeah, he doesn't turn into a real monster. No. So yeah, it'll be interesting to see if what other ones are there.

SPEAKER_01Yep. So, you know, be he beats up the bank guard off screen. Right. And does steal Velma's glasses.

SPEAKER_01So that almost kind of already puts them in the top half of the top half of the list.

SPEAKER_01But at the same because like I don't know if I like the creeper more than zombie.
SPEAKER_02Well, do you do you want to put him at the lower part of the top half? Like kind of because you say he's not you want to put him out of the zombie. But like at the same time, like Zombie only gets reused well, he gets reused a couple more times than other things, but he's not as iconic as the creeper. But then you have your space kook in there too. That makes it a little more difficult to figure out the thing.
SPEAKER_01No, and this other thing is like some of these that I do know that have shown up later in things have been put down lower on the list. Like honestly, like looking at this top part of the list, like we know the zombie shows up in Scooby-Doo 2.

SPEAKER_01Everything else above that doesn't.

SPEAKER_01I know the ghost of Elias Kingston shows up in Be Cool Scooby-Doo. Yep. I know The Phantom Shadows. Not counting Scooby Scooby Natural. They are also referenced in the Scooby-Doo movie Frank and Creepy. Okay. Along with Red Beard and Iron Face and I think it's Mamba Wamba.

SPEAKER_02No, I suppose not. But I also like Scook doesn't grab anyone from the. So you want to put him below zombie and above the book.
SPEAKER_01I think that would be fair, even though I do like Creeper more than I like a lot of this top half of the list.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. But since he doesn't do what they all do, and the Fan Shadow grabs every grabs all the guests but Scooby. So that puts him up there them up there already because they're gonna grab four of them off-screen.

SPEAKER_01I guess now that brings us to how many snacks do we think this one brings to the table?
SPEAKER_02Oh, I I'm I know my number, but that's my own biased opinion. That's my own biased opinion. Yes, because we haven't learned all that. This is always great.
SPEAKER_01Because this one we haven't, because we haven't learned from this podcast previously how much our biases can affect the numbers.
SPEAKER_02Well, of course. This is like one of the most iconic episodes.
SPEAKER_01So without saying what number I think you're thinking, you know, because I'm pretty sure I don't think I'm going to uh I'm gonna talk about uh my thoughts and come up with my idea. Your idea, your number. Let's see how well they match up. Yes. Okay. Um, first of all, uh-huh, this one was iconic enough, it got onto Scooby-Doo's Greatest Mysteries, VHS.
SPEAKER_02Yep. And that's how we watched it today. Yes. We brought VHS VHS tape back.
SPEAKER_01The the musical chase song is the most out there one yet. It definitely's first lines are I'm in love with an ostrich.
SPEAKER_02Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01All the neighbors complaining about.
SPEAKER_02All the neighbors complaining about, but they don't understand.
SPEAKER_01So, like, the chase on is just the most ridiculous thing.
SPEAKER_02But it's awesome because it's just like.
SPEAKER_01So we get Velma losing her glasses. We do. We get the equivalent of the Scooby-Dooby Doors.

SPEAKER_01Yep. We get baby chick thinks it's a dog. Yes, we do. Uh-huh. You know, despite the fact it's trying to act like Scrappy for a little bit.
SPEAKER_02Right. That's also iconic in itself, too.
SPEAKER_01You know, we get weird food combination. Yes, we do get that, don't we? I like, I would honestly say. While I while I personally think that it could have used a bit more of classic Scooby humor, like throwing the key out the window, jumping out to grab the key and then unlocking the door to run back out. Uh-huh. You know, that there is still some good Scooby humor in here. There is. You know?
SPEAKER_02I mean, Scooby can't everyone seems to be a good thing.
SPEAKER_01They report a chick in disguise. Right. You know. One-on-one chases with the Creeper that because of Shenanigans does not end well for Creeper.
SPEAKER_02Nope.
SPEAKER_01He seems to be getting no super ridiculous trap.

SPEAKER_01Just like a trap of convenience. Right. But again, works.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_01I do think this one does deserve to get a five.
SPEAKER_02Well, good. I'm glad you're in agreement with me that it should get a five. Because it is a very good episode.
SPEAKER_01Because it's like I said, like, you know, I I think the episodes that we give fives to are those episodes where it's like, yeah, this episode is a must-watch. Like if we've never, for whatever reason, ever seen Scooby-Doo, like I do think like these are the episodes that like are the best episodes to watch. Right. Just to gauge whether or not you will enjoy this cartoon. Right. And it's like where I don't think like I don't think on paper spooky space kook is above this episode. Okay. In terms of like what would I introduce a kid to first? Yep. I think it's all a matter of how like how well could they handle some of the more designs. Right. Like I think Space Kook has a creepier design too. Right, I think so too. Um so I would almost probably say maybe this one over Space Kook. Really? You're a good one. Um depending on the age of the kid. Like on how well. Yep. You know, like if you know because I think, you know, there are a couple of just nuanced differences that could because everything's subjective.

SPEAKER_01So yeah, this is what I don't know what num how many we've given fives to.
SPEAKER_02I will have to come through the information and but yeah, it's it's weird.
SPEAKER_01Like there have been a couple of episodes that have been given fives lately.
SPEAKER_02There have been. Well, because we're getting to the really good ones and the ones that have the chase scenes are getting even well, even some before, you know, the magical the magical chase scenes are getting fives, you know, or the the magical music scenes, I suppose I should say. You know, but I mean it they're they're getting to be the better ep I mean not saying the other some of the ones before weren't better, but you know, we're starting to get to the point where they really did a lot of good work on a lot of these later episodes. You know, they did a lot more work on them, you know, add a lot more of the clip exactly put more of the classic that we remember growing up that apparently weren't in previous episodes. All of a sudden now we're getting them.
SPEAKER_01You know what's really weird thinking about it?
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_00Is I can't think of any musical chasings in the Scooby-Doo show.
SPEAKER_01No, there aren't any.
SPEAKER_02I mean, we get everything else classical with it, but yet we don't get the classic.
SPEAKER_01I don't know, maybe I think maybe only one or two episodes of the new Scooby movies might have it.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_01And I think that's only because of Whoever They're With, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But then we get all that again in the pup named Scooby-Doo. We get a lot more music chase scenes.
SPEAKER_01The budget for a pup named Scooby-Doo must have been insane because it's like each episode had its own original chase music about the monster.
SPEAKER_02Awesome. I mean, they did it, they went all out. Maybe they went all out for that. Which really was a reboot for the series because that they just brought it back to the what's the new Scooby-Doo has the musical chases. Oh, yeah, they do.
SPEAKER_01Which is you know, the more you know, that is a you know, that series debuted while we were growing up. Yeah, you know. So that's what we watched.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I mean, yeah, we guarantee we watched a lot of the other ones, but you know, we were what preteens teenagers in that ballpark.
SPEAKER_01Right. You know, right.
SPEAKER_02I mean, they had awesome awesome songs in it, but they also had awesome artists. They get simple plan in that. I mean, simple plan is in every episode because of the iconic intro that they made. That bumped up their stardom. Yeah. I'm willing to because of that.
SPEAKER_01They will still play that song in their live shows. Oh, I've heard of it. And inviting people that are dressed as Scooby or you know, mystery characters up on stage.
SPEAKER_02Exactly. I mean, that would be like we should definitely go see Simple Plan and then dress up as our characters and see if they look. We should do that. Be like, hey, Mr. Hey, the Scooby News show is on, so simple plan. That would be awesome. We should definitely do that. We need to look at their tour schedules and see where they are. We definitely should. I think that would be awesome. That would definitely work pretty well there. Yes.
