SPEAKER_01

Hello and welcome to the Scooby-Zone, the podcast where you ask for a sass for and you get a mug full of spiderwebs as we watch an episode of Scooby-Doo. I'm Rob. And I'm Katie. And today we'll be watching Decoy for a Dognapper, episode 5 of Scooby-Doo Where Are You? Yep. You know, this is the last one that's on the VHS tape, Scooby-Doo's original mysteries.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that's right. It is on there.

SPEAKER_01

And, you know, this is one where I can like I can remember it.

SPEAKER_00

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_01

And I remember a lot of bits of it.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

But it also feels like one of those episodes where it doesn't really feel like actual Scooby.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, I see your point.

SPEAKER_01

Um. Because, you know, not to get into spoiler territory. Right. But the whole mystery isn't like all the other mysteries that they solve.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Um. So this will be fun to watch through again and then talk about. It'll be fun. Um. But before we get started on that, you guys, you can always email us any questions, comments, whatever you want.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, to ScoobyZonepodcast at gmail.com. You can find us on Facebook and Twitter and Instagram under the Scooby Zone podcast name. Um, if that changes, we will let you guys know. So if you aren't finding it, that will probably be why. Makes sense. Yep. You know, um, as a reminder, all episodes of Scooby-Doo Where Are You are available on DVD and Blu-ray.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Um, if you still have a VHS player, there are countless VHS tapes out there that there were countless VHS tapes made.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

How likely you are to find them yet is very rare. Another matter of because, you know, not everybody donated them to secondhand resale shops. Some people may have just tossed them in the trash. Um so again, that's why we are telling you DVD and Blu-ray is the best way of watching them. Um at the time of recording, it has been made apparent that the streaming service Tubi will be having a influx of old cartoons, a lot of them being the different Scooby series going from Where Are You through At least Be Cool.

SPEAKER_00

I think we got it.

SPEAKER_01

Which covers a whole lot. I the only two I don't recall seeing on there were Scooby-Doo and Guess Who.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

And the Laugh Olympics.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, I didn't see that one either.

SPEAKER_01

And we are still discussing how we will be handling the Laugh Olympics for you guys. Yep. If we will be doing that episode by episode, like everything else, or just one episode doing an overview of the entire series. Um, because it's not a pure Scooby series, it is a love letter to all Hanna Barbera cartoons.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it definitely is.

SPEAKER_01

Um so with all of that out of the way, you guys, we are gonna go split up, look for clues, watch the episode, and we will back be back with you in just a bit. That was decoy for a dog napper. Yep, not many decoys around this time, just one.

SPEAKER_00

Just one decoy. That's all we needed.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, just need one. So, why don't we go ahead and start from the beginning?

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

You know, this was pretty unique. Actually, it started in the daytime, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. All the other episodes started at night at nighttime or just a little bit before dark, too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I think some just like just a little bit before.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I know Hassel and the Castle started out as a nice clear day and then got spooky. What could have happened? Fog.

SPEAKER_00

Speak English, Velma. I will understand you better.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that is Elma. Yeah. But, anyways, Scooby's out walking by himself when he would be doing that. Nobody knows. Everyone else was at the beach.

SPEAKER_00

That is true.

SPEAKER_01

Without Scooby, is weird, but it is. Yep. He tries to get her attention, he picks some flowers.

SPEAKER_00

Very nice gesture, of course.

SPEAKER_01

And then he sees the dog get kidnapped. Dognapped, I guess. Dognapped, yeah, be the so he runs to the beach to let the rest of Mr. Ink know. Yep. They then hear on the radio after Scooby turns on the radio, that there has been a string of dog nappings.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

And so they decide to go and l visit one of the victims, uh, Mr. Buckmasters, who believes that the dog nappings are all related to an upcoming dog show.

SPEAKER_00

No, it's probably not wrong.

SPEAKER_01

You know, they decide to go off that and decide to talk to. We don't see it, but they talk to uh another dog owner, Bob Miller, and uh, after talking with him, they decide to have Scooby fill in as a decoy for uh Bob Miller's champion Great Dane.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Um, they gave Scooby a nice bath, which goes about as well as you'd expect from Scooby.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Um, put a tracking device in uh fancy collar for him.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, fancy collar.

SPEAKER_01

And you know, it's a matter of now getting Scooby to go out there. He asks for a Scooby snack. Yep, and surprisingly, Shaggy steals it this time. Yep. Making this this the first time you've ever seen Shaggy eat a Scooby snack. Yep. Ah you know, and then you know they do go to give Scooby one. Shaggy tries to steal it again, but Scooby stops him. Yep. So the amount of Scooby snacks eaten so far is another two. Yep, so it brings our total to ten. Yeah. I think as of right now, our total is ten. Yep. Um while Shaggy and Scooby are out walking, um, there is a female dog out. Um don't think it's uh of any particular breed. No, it's just the dogs, but you know that dog seems to be infatuated with Scooby, but because Scooby is playing the role of a decoy, he can't really interact. Nope. So the female dog gets mad at Shaggy about that and tries to cause problems. She does try to cause problems, yep. Um while they continue their walk, there is a black van that looks a lot like the mystery machine.

SPEAKER_00

It does look a lot like the mystery machine.

SPEAKER_01

Um, in terms of its design.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, it does look.

SPEAKER_01

Decides that when it starts up, it just wants to fill the area with exhaust smoke, making it impossible for anyone to see. Yep. Where the dog knappers then cut Scooby's leash and take Scooby. Yep. Shaggy chases after them, basically asks a gas station attendant if he has any wheels. And when he's told that he gists his motor scooter, Shaggy expertly commits some grand theft auto by taking it.

SPEAKER_00

Always expertly does it, not anything.

SPEAKER_01

Well, at the same time, we see the mystery machine drive by. No driver in the window. Nope. But we get an interior shot. We see Fred and Daphne in the front. Velma is sitting in the back at a computer tracking Scooby's collar. So they decide to follow. And then we get another exterior shot of the mystery machine with the front seat completely empty. So your safety warning this week, you guys. When you're driving a vehicle, especially a van.

SPEAKER_00

Especially a van.

SPEAKER_01

Well, make sure you're actually in the driver's seat.

SPEAKER_00

Make sure you're actually in the car. In the car, guys. Alright? Don't yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Don't get out to commit some expertly committed Grand Theft Auto while leaving the other vehicle still running and in the drive, you guys.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, in the drive.

SPEAKER_01

Probably won't work out well for you.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think it will, you know, lose the vehicle.

SPEAKER_01

Um man. You know, Shaggy continuing to chase, um, ends up close to an Indian uh reservation where he is suddenly terrorized by a ghostly Indian on horseback. While the ringleader of the Dognappers, a Indian witch doctor ghost, notices that Scooby is not the champion Great Dane, and they put him in a handcar and send him down the mountain. The rest of the game eventually catch up to Shaggy, and then Daphne lets them know that Scooby's tracker is moving again, in which they follow to find Scooby going down railroad tracks. They chase after in the van, where when they are close enough, Shaggy jumps onto the cart and attempts to apply the handbrake to get it to stop.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

While just barely getting it to stop before noticing a train coming in which Shaggy Midnight Express. Yes, the Midnight Express. Shaggy then pumps on the hand car to get it moving. Yep. Doing a surprisingly amount to get it to not get hit by a speeding train. Yep. In which Fred, at noticing a turnstile up by the tracks, puts the mystery machine in reverse to go to it so that they can switch the tracks over to let Shaggy and Scooby be on one portion of the track out of the way of the Midnight Express.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

They then have Scooby lead them back to the Indian reservation, where they then notice the Indian witch doctor basically warn them away. Um, they split up into two after using a giant slingshot to giant slingshot to climb up the side of.

SPEAKER_00

For some reason, we got I don't know how we got that, but you know.

SPEAKER_01

You know, they split up, Fred and Daphne going one way, while Shaggy, Velma, and Scooby go another way. Shaggy, Velma, and Scooby are disturbed by some bats, which proceed to steal Velma's glasses. Yep. So you guys can go ahead and take a drink for Velma losing her glasses.

SPEAKER_00

I suppose.

SPEAKER_01

And then the bats drop them on Scooby.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

And Scooby runs off and does Scooby things.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Scare Shaggy a bit by wearing a weird Indian mask and It's Geronimo! When Shaggy finds realizes Scooby has Velma's glasses, they meet up with Velma, give her her glasses back.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

You know, we cut to Fred and Daphne, where they are terrorized again by the Indian witch doctor.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Daphne sits down on a bench. The bench descends down into the ground, and Daphne has officially been kidnapped by the villain. So yeah, this is the first time she's actually kidnapped by the villain. Yeah. Because we will later see her tied up. Scooby using his super Scooby nose leads Shaggy to a room with food. Specifically Scooby food.

SPEAKER_00

Scooby food.

SPEAKER_01

Not anything else but Scooby Food. Um Yeah, they find a whole stack of dog food cans. And while Scooby is sniffing around, a panel in a cupboard opens. Scooby's looking inside it when a hand comes out of a small opening in the wall and pushes Scooby down it.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

It is there where Scooby finds all of the other dog show contestant dogs locked up in cages and Daphne tied to a post.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

She has Scooby untie her, and they end up meeting up with Fred and Velma. And shake not Shaggy yet, that's a bit later.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Um Fred is investigating the area where they found the Indian witch doctor when Daphne disappeared, opening a secret wall behind a fire. Yep. Where shortly after Velma ascends from the ground there on a bench, not knowing how she got there, she just says she sat down.

SPEAKER_00

And suddenly I'm here. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Where when Daphne appears from must be a hallway behind in that same back room.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Um, having Velma and Fred follow her, where they release all of the dogs.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Have Scooby talk to them about if they know, you know, finding the Indian witch doctor, in which we get what is probably what I would consider the trap of this episode. Yeah, I think you're right. Running with the dogs.

SPEAKER_00

Running with the dogs.

SPEAKER_01

They're all happily barking, chasing after something.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Which is where we run into Shaggy again. He's walking with this giant sandwich he made.

SPEAKER_00

And little morsel is what he calls it. Yeah. And little morsel.

SPEAKER_01

End up running into him.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

His sandwich goes flying up into the air where he quickly puts it back together and manages to eat.

SPEAKER_00

He eats it.

SPEAKER_01

Scooby did not steal it this time.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_01

Um he then follows Fred and the girls following the dogs, to which, you know, they slide down a ladder and find that the dogs have chased the Indian witch doctor up a tree. They proceed to unmask him, and it turns out to be Buck Masters, who had kidnapped his own dog to throw the suspicion off of him. And his plan was to kidnap all of the other dogs, in which his dog would suddenly make a return so it could win the dog show. And then after when talking with the sheriff, wrapping everything up, we are told that the Ghost Indian was just a movie projection that was made from the back of Master's truck. Scooby then scares Shaggy by holding a feather duster up behind his head to make it look like an Indian headdress. Yep. Holding a small stone hatchet.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

And using and using a flashlight to project that his shadow as a silhouette of that to scare Shaggy into thinking the ghost of Geronimo was back.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

And that's where we end this week's episode.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

So again, another instance. Another instance that 22 minutes can really be the fastest thing in the world.

SPEAKER_00

It can be. I guess that's how it works, I guess.

SPEAKER_01

So we get some fun fun stuff now to do.

SPEAKER_00

I guess we do, huh? Alright.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Alright.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, don't know how to stretch this one out for you guys.

SPEAKER_00

I really don't know either. We'll have to.

SPEAKER_01

So let's go ahead and start. Well, as we mentioned during our recap, our snack intake for the series is now up to 10.

SPEAKER_00

It's up to 10, guys. You know? We're getting up there, but we're still averaging two an episode, but hey, it's one per person this time instead of just two for Scooby.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Shaggy somehow manages to see.

SPEAKER_01

Shaggy's now, Shaggy has now put his stomach in the game.

SPEAKER_00

No pun intended on that one.

SPEAKER_01

Alright. So maybe this will now start to drive this total up.

SPEAKER_00

It might. Yeah, the two will definitely drive it up. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Alright.

SPEAKER_00

Oh boy. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So the manifest of monsters.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, this is the list of where we will be ranking every monster that they that the game goes up against.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

So first, right off the bat, we will be excluding the Ghost of Geronimo, which is specifically the movie projection.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Um it's you know, it doesn't really do much of anything. It's not really the villain. No. I guess yeah, I guess calling, you know, saying that we're ranking the monsters, really we're ranking the villains.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You know.

SPEAKER_00

But it's perfect for just saying manifest the monsters. It works for the series, so it makes sense more for that.

SPEAKER_01

You know, you know, the Ghost of Geronimo is just a tool being used by the monster. Yep. So currently, our list is sitting at from order of least to best.

SPEAKER_00

Isn't it best to least?

SPEAKER_01

Well, yes, but I'm going backwards right now.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_01

You know, build-ups is a self-suspense. For those who don't know who the best monster is yet so far.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, alright.

SPEAKER_01

So right now, sitting at the bottom at number four, we've got ghost. Specifically the Vasquez Castle Ghost.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, that's number four. Yeah. Sounds like that.

SPEAKER_01

At number three, we have the Black Knight Ghost.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Number two, we've got the iconic Minor 49er. Yep. And right now, sitting at number one as the best ghost of this show so far. But Def, don't worry, he won't stay up there for the entire series. We've got some coming up that are for sure going to push him out of the push him out, and we will probably be arguing over on which which ones will continue to stay at that spot.

SPEAKER_00

Right. We'll see how well that goes.

SPEAKER_01

But that being the ghost of Captain Cutler.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

So where would you put the Indian witch doctor? I mean, I'd say in terms of its cultural appropriation, okay. Not the greatest, like it's a problematic ghost.

SPEAKER_00

I would say so too. It's a problematic ghost. However, his design is very elaborate. True.

SPEAKER_01

Um personally, I think that I think his design is better than Captain Cutler's.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, like Captain Cat like, honestly, I think what sets Captain Cutler above everyone else right now is the glowing seaweed.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. That he had.

SPEAKER_01

Otherwise, he's just in a dive suit.

SPEAKER_00

Right, he's just in a normal dive suit.

SPEAKER_01

I would say every ghost we've had so far has been a very lazy costume.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, I can see that.

SPEAKER_01

This one I'd say no. This one I think a lot of attention was put into the costume.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

I would I would argue that right now this one would be number one.

SPEAKER_00

You're gonna push Captain Cutler out of his number one spot. I I would.

SPEAKER_01

You would push him out of the spot. I would, but this is you know, this is hourless. You've got to say here too.

SPEAKER_00

So I don't know if I'm gonna I'd say he again, he's probably better than the black knight, but because of iconic with Captain Cutler, he's probably below because like we I mean, growing up, I didn't really watch this episode that much. It wasn't really a popular episode. You know, I watched it ten to time, but yet I think it's a so you say he's above the black knight ghost.

SPEAKER_01

Um but before no, well compared against minor 49er. Which I know is asking a lot because that's one of your favorite episodes.

SPEAKER_00

But I mean, like you said, the the design was put had a lot more effort put into it. They did a lot more to it. I would say it would it would go before the minor 49ers. Okay, but below Captain Cutler. Are you respecting that decision? Yeah, you know. Okay, since I'm putting more of an understanding in between it. Since like it's not one of my favorite episodes, but it's not a bad episode at all. It's just one that I never really got into. But yeah, I'll respect it. That's the thing.

SPEAKER_01

It's like you know, because of I think because of the cultural appropriation with this ghost.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'm curious if this could if this ghost could have been a contender to be in Scooby-Doo 2.

SPEAKER_00

It could have been, yeah, that is true.

SPEAKER_01

You know, and like had that been, like, would we look more fondly on this design on this? We might have, yeah. Because again, you know, Captain Cutler is in that film. Yep. You know, and like Right. And you know, again, and I like I said, like I I think I like this design more than Captain Cutler's.

SPEAKER_00

Right. I mean, I think I do too, however, it's just Captain Cutler is more iconic, you know, like we said for the Mile 49er, but yet, like you say, his design was more lazy, not put together as well. Yeah. The witch doctor is just put higher above because they actually took time and actually gave him a better design than the other ones. Yeah. That's more or less why he gets bumped up a little bit more than some of the other ones.

SPEAKER_01

So again, you know, knowing some of the ghosts that we have coming up, like I'm a little curious like how many more weeks we can go with Captain Cutler still at number one.

SPEAKER_00

That is true. We'll have to see, yeah, because he might not stay up there. There'll be ones that are like, nope, he goes below. Nope, he goes below.

SPEAKER_01

I know next week is going to be a little uh difficult, I'd say. Yeah. Just because like there's not a lot I remember from next week's episode.

SPEAKER_00

Next week's episode. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So I don't want to say on where that one might fall, but the episode after that, like, that's not gonna be a good showing, I think. Might not be after that, like, then it's what the foul play and fun land.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. I almost forgot the robot.

SPEAKER_01

No. Yeah, like I remember the episode, like I don't know why, like, I was blinking on what was between Never Never Ape with an Never Ape and Ape Man and uh the backstage rage.

SPEAKER_00

That's foul play and fun land.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And so, and remembering on who the uh quote unquote monster of that episode is like the robot. I think we're if we don't have a new number one next week, yeah, we for sure will have a new number one within like the next couple of weeks.

SPEAKER_00

With the Yeah, we might have a new number one, guys. Yeah, he's not gonna stay in that place for very long.

SPEAKER_01

But who can tell? Because I suppose I personally have not watched any of these episodes any re sort recently.

SPEAKER_00

Well, yeah, that's not how that goes for me. Whenever they're on boomerang, guess what? They're right on the TV. So some of us still have cable. Hey, that is another way to watch it too. If you have cable, that's another way to watch Scooby-Doo if you have it on cable. But it's not on demand anymore, guys.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Um, yeah, it's um, yeah, it's actually kind of weird. Uh holding off on what I watch for in terms of Scooby content right now. Yeah, knowing that we are doing this.

SPEAKER_00

Um it doesn't work that way for me. I'll watch it no matter what. It doesn't stop me.

SPEAKER_01

You know, I'll put Scooby on for the kids, but like my level of involvement of like how well I'm paying attention and watching will vary depending on what is on or if I put on put it on a VHS tape or not. Right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's true.

SPEAKER_01

Um okay. So we've got the Manifest of Monsters done.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. The trap.

SPEAKER_01

Uh let's do, yeah, we can do the trap. Okay. Uh, so our trap list. Oh you know, this one really wasn't a trap. It was more or less hey dogs, go do your thing.

SPEAKER_00

Go do your thing. Go chase after this person.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, we caught him. Yay, we caught him. I think in terms of effectiveness, it was pretty effective.

SPEAKER_00

It got the point across.

SPEAKER_01

We've gotten the job done with no problems. Nope, yeah, it's yet to be done.

SPEAKER_00

It does have yet to be done.

SPEAKER_01

All right, it's never gonna happen again.

SPEAKER_00

No, but all right, let's see. So it's not gonna be number one.

SPEAKER_01

It's still not gonna be number one. Let's go over our current trap right now.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, let's go over them right now.

SPEAKER_01

From you know, so far the worst trap to the best trap.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

So far the worst one.

SPEAKER_00

I think it's still instant suds. Yeah, the instant suds is still the worst.

SPEAKER_01

Um explaining for those who have forgotten or haven't watched that episode or listened to the reason why. Um, instant suds is the trap they set up in a clue for Scooby-Doo. They attached a bar of soap in a spray container to a fire hose, turned on the water, instant suds.

SPEAKER_00

Instant suds.

SPEAKER_01

It failed because Fred and Daphne, who were holding the hose, completely let go, letting it flail everywhere. And guess who was holding? It went Shaggy grabbed it, and then Shaggy's flailing around.

SPEAKER_00

Flying around. Well, well, uh, I guess.

SPEAKER_01

Number two.

SPEAKER_00

The fake train.

SPEAKER_01

We have the fake train from last week's episode. Yep. Where they use Shaggy's vocal expertise.

SPEAKER_00

Expertise again.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

We're gonna keep using that word.

SPEAKER_01

Once Shaggy stops being an expert in something, I will stop using that word.

SPEAKER_00

Is that I don't know if that's gonna happen.

SPEAKER_01

No, it's like it's really weird. Shaggy seems to be so good at everything.

SPEAKER_00

He does seem to be somehow. I'm not understanding this.

SPEAKER_01

You keep doing what you do, Norville.

SPEAKER_00

Normal. It's Shaggy. Like, nobody calls me Normal. Normal, normal.

SPEAKER_01

Um, you know. Shaggy imitates a train over a loudspeaker. Yep. Scooby is on a hand car with a headlight to pretend to be a train.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

They chased the ghost into a shed. It failed because Scooby had no brakes, was unable to stop, crashed into the shed.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Which turned out to have a cliff on the other side of it.

SPEAKER_00

Somehow it, yeah, I don't know why there'd be a cliff there, but I I guess to add a little more suspense, you know.

SPEAKER_01

And then so far, the best trap is a better mouse trap from is is what Shaggy called a better mouse trap, which Fred put together with his Rube Goldie genius brain. One of the best with a suit of armor and crossbow, a cannonball, and an old spring. Yep. It's it is the just most ridiculous thing ever.

SPEAKER_00

But it well, it's supposed to work, but it doesn't exactly work.

SPEAKER_01

It failed.

SPEAKER_00

But it still failed.

SPEAKER_01

Because they Scooby didn't jump over the rope that they were going to use to trip the ghost.

SPEAKER_00

Normal.

SPEAKER_01

Where my issue with that is if the ghost saw Scooby jump over it, why wouldn't the ghost jump over it? That is true. Why not just pull it tight after Scooby ran by?

SPEAKER_00

Scooby's gotta act the part. He's gonna make the ghost believe there's nothing there, so he trips over it too.

SPEAKER_01

There is no way this is better than that.

SPEAKER_00

No, there's no way.

SPEAKER_01

Genius, ridiculous trap.

SPEAKER_00

No, it's not better than better than that.

SPEAKER_01

But I don't effectiveness is so much better than everything else.

SPEAKER_00

That is true. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

I mean for sure it's better than the suds.

SPEAKER_00

It is definitely better than the suds, but um I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

But it's not really a trap, so I think I don't know if I want to put it above pretending to be a train.

SPEAKER_00

I don't I think it's above instant suds and below fake trains.

SPEAKER_01

Pretending to be a train isn't really a trap, but they lock them in a shed.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

So I guess that counts as trapping.

unknown

It does, doesn't it?

SPEAKER_01

So are are we in agreement where it's yeah, above instant suds, but below the fake train.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think that's where we're gonna put it. Yeah, yeah. At least we're agreeing on some things.

SPEAKER_01

And we will label that trap as dogs.

SPEAKER_00

Wasn't it like running dogs or something?

SPEAKER_01

I think that's what I wrote down in my notes.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Oh, yeah. Just call it dogs, I suppose. Hmm.

SPEAKER_01

Alright. So now we have to put this onto our table of snacks.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, table of snacks. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So how many Scooby snacks did this episode bring to the table?

SPEAKER_00

I mean, like I said, with it, you know, not being one of my favorites, but I still respect what they do.

SPEAKER_01

I'd give it a three.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I was honestly thinking a three too, because you know, like I said, it's not my favorite. However, however, the time and the design they put into The Witch Doctor makes it decent enough, but it's not. We'll get better episodes as we go, well, depending on our opinions, I suppose.

SPEAKER_01

And again, like this is like this was in the first five episodes.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Um, it it normally it takes a show a while to find its footing and right.

SPEAKER_00

That is true.

SPEAKER_01

You know, knowing the episodes we have coming up, like there's for sure one in the next five that is kind of a, in my opinion, a know-nothing episode. One of the next upcoming five is one that I do not have fond memories of for the villain. Oh, but that is also looking at things from an older mindset.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Um we will talk about that when we get there.

SPEAKER_00

When we get there, guys. Yeah, when we get there.

SPEAKER_01

Next week episode is like, I remember stuff of it.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

But not enough to where it's right.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, this one I didn't really watch that much either. I mean, it's not I mean, honestly, I thought it was a different one.

SPEAKER_01

You know, then we've got one that I remember from on a VHS tape I had growing up. And then we've got Foul Play in Funland, which is just a ridiculous fun episode.

SPEAKER_00

It is a ridiculous fun episode.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. So, you know, it's another short episode this week for you guys.

SPEAKER_00

That's another short one. That's weird.

SPEAKER_01

No, these will get better. Um, yeah, they will start reading emails from you guys, like that'll help pat out some of this if you really want it. Or you could tell us, hey, don't read us, don't read our emails to us. Just answer them.

SPEAKER_00

Just answer them, please. We have we're curious about it.

SPEAKER_01

Um but remember, when you're driving, don't abandon your vehicle.

SPEAKER_00

Don't abandon your vehicle in drive.

SPEAKER_01

And don't steal somebody else's vehicle.

SPEAKER_00

No, don't steal somebody else.

SPEAKER_01

Even asking if they've got one. Because that almost makes it worse.

SPEAKER_00

Right? You got one, I'm gonna steal in five seconds, you know. Expertly stealing it like Grand Theft Auto here.

SPEAKER_01

So we'll be back next week with the episode What the Heck's Going On?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'll definitely be back, guys.

SPEAKER_01

But until then, just remember, they would have gotten away with it too.

SPEAKER_00

If it weren't for those meddling kits.
